Good Cribs vs. Bad Cribs

How do we know that the Cribs we are going to purchase is a good crib or a bad crib?

If the crib is new, or if it was made in North America any time since 1990, it should be a good crib. It’s important for you to know that good and reputable manufacturers build cribs that last for many years. Like many things, however, cribs do wear with use. So if the crib is one that you used for your first child, you need to make sure that all hardware and joints are tight and secure.

Any cribs that do not meet the above criteria should be approached very carefully. Cribs made prior to the last safety regulation change in 1990, should not be used at all. Again, we strongly recommend that if you are considering using any crib made outside of North America, that you scrutinize it very carefully for specifications and structural integrity.
