Beautiful, but BROKEN!!

I thought this item looked beautiful but did think twice when I saw the reviews that reported it arriving broken or breaking easily. I went ahead and ordered and my set too arrived broken, and some parts are very flimsy. The parts that are broken my partner thinks he can fix or make stronger, but at the price it is sold at you shouldn't really have to do this.
My daughter (9) admittedly does love it and plays with it and I won't send it back for this reason. I encourage her to play with it gently! I don't think it would withstand the play of a younger child for very long.
I just don't see why they can't make it a bit sturdier - it would be perfect! |
pretty but a bit disappointing

This is a very pretty and imaginative set. However the quality of the design and workmanship is disappointing. On opening the box four items needed to be repaired straight away - the tray had come apart, both knives needed to be glued and the skirt had fallen off the egg cup. Since then the velcro has peeled off all the cutting fruits. The colours are pretty but the paintwork is a little bit crude - the attention to detail is a little lacking. Although the set is fun to play with, it could've been better designed eg the spoon doesn't fit well in the pot of honey. My kids do like to play with this but not as much as other wooden and fabric food and kitchen sets - it's just not as tactile to play with. This is an expensive toy but it is just not in the same league as other similarly price kitchen toys by makes such as Haba and Ezri.
i love it!

This is an amazingly beautiful set. The toaster actually pops up the toast which is so much fun. Endless fun and really pretty too.

I purchased this breakfast set for my 3 year old granddaughter on initial opening of present she was delighted however, on openeing the box the wooden frilly top of the egg cup was detached from the eggcup, required to be glued then on playing with the tray a screw came loose which attached the handles of the tray on to the base of the tray when we went to replace it we noticed that the wood in the tray was split. All in all a badly made product. I have not returned it as I am unwilling to pay postage etc. which could possibly be refunded but I have not had time to make enquiries we have just repaired it with glue. Will think twice before purchasing on line again as goods wer enot cheaper than shop plus had to pay postage and packaging with difficulty in returning shoddy goods. Not Amazon's fault I know.

my beautiful grand-daughter Niamh is 2 years old and absolutely loves cooking with her mummy now instead of sitting on a chair watching she joins in and makes her own food for mummy and daddy for tea (mummy and daddy feel like a couple of teddy bears but hey Niamh is in her heaven), thank you very much for bringing so much joy to all their lives. Niamh's for enjoying the item and the big smiles mummy and daddy get to see daily.
