The “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” actor, Matthew McConaughey, and his girlfriend, Camila Alves, welcomed a son named Levi Alves McConaughey on Monday, July 7, 2008 in Los Angeles, California. He was born at 6:22 p.m. and weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces. The 38-year-old actor announced that his Brazilian model girlfriend, Alves, 24, was pregnant in a posting on his Web site in January.

The former ‘Sexiest Man Alive’, McConaughey, told OK!, “Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person. Our son was born at 6:22 p.m., and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: ‘If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light’.”

The first pictures of little Levi were reportedly sold to OK! for $3 million. According to the New York Post, McConaughey hired Todd Shemarya, who sold photos of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt for $4 million, to broker the deal. According to TMZ, the deal includes Levi’s first Christmas, additional newborn photos, and the first rights to the couple’s wedding photos when (and if) they marry. Those photos would be an additional price tag, of course.

McConaughey’s personal life is the subject of media attention. He has dated actresses Sandra Bullock, Kate Hudson, Ashley Judd, Salli Richardson, and Penelope Cruz.
