Brilliant! (Just make sure you get some spare fuses first!)

This kit is fantastic. My youngest daughter (10) spends hours building circuits, lighting bulbs, making noises and making the spinny thing fly. It's fantastic value for money too - there's masses of kit, all well laid out and robustly made.

There are loads of very well explained experiments. But children love to make up their own... which leads to things being wired incorrectly. It's all OK because you can't do much damage with 4 AA batteries. The only problem is that there are no spare fuses for when 'Red light stops play'. Which is a shame because on Christmas day it's not easy to find anywhere selling fuses! But now, armed with two dozen spares (2amp) it's great!
A fun way to learn about electricity

This product is very well made. The components are pretty robust and my 7 year old has not broken anything yet! Overall I really like it, and my kids have already learnt from it. Only two points I would like to raise:

* they really should provide spare fuses - this is after all to be used by kids who will experiment the wrong way
* although it says 500 experiments, a lot of these are slight variations of a very similar theme.

But still a worthwhile purchase.

bought for my 8 year old son who loved it. Jumped straight in and started to build circuits from the easy to follow pictures. Managed to blow a fuse fairly quickly and one of the bulbs didnt work but once spares were got (available locally) he was up and running again. Has the potential to be very educational he just needs to get round to reading the instructions instead of just following the pictures. All in all great fun and a great product.
My 6 year old son loves this!!

Really fun toy for the child with an enquiring mind. Easy to assemble and follow pictures. The text is quite grown up but my six year old just copies the pictures and doesn't worry about the details of what's happening. We blew the two fuses in the box within hours, but they are easy to get hold of.

We like the stop-go traffic lights and the Happy Birthday doorbell circuits so far - but loads more to do.

My son has thoroughly enjoyed making up all kinds of circuits with this kit. He has managed to blow a bulb and a fuse, so a couple of extra spare would be a good idea, but apart from that I would recommend it to anyone who is into science and experiments.
